Mazda CX-70

How it looks on the Street: The two-row Mazda CX-70 is a midsize SUV and a true driver’s friend for its 2025 model year debut. Its curves suggest its preference for spirit, and its shares a lot in common with sibling, the three-row CX-90. The points of exterior distinction are in its signature black grille, unique wheels, and bumper.

How it feels on the inside: The interior is a bright spot, and a level up for the brand. Quiet cabin, solid materials, boost of driving support from the advanced driver assistance system. Designed surface favor patterns.  The infotainment controls can be a bit funky because of size and dimension.

How it drives: The CX-70 has the performance credentials that make it Mazda and engine noises to support that thesis. The performance is full on in the upper echelon of its engine setup, the 3.3-liter inline-six engine that produces 340 horsepower. It earns 25 miles per gallon. A more conservative option produces 280 horsepower. The CX-70 is also made as a plug-in hybrid.

Space for people and things: The two-rows in the place of three make for a very spacious interior that has ample interior storage, and creative storage bins in open spaces.

What to compare it to: Toyota Land Cruiser, Ford Bronco, Subaru Outback.

How much does it cost: The CX-70 starts at $41,900 tops out at $57,405 for the plug-in hybrid variant.
