How it looks when you see on the street: We drove the newly added LX700h, a hybrid that was added to the lineup for the 2025 model year. This full size SUV last got a fresh-faced look and name plate for the 2022 model year. It’s built on sister brand Toyota’s Tundra truck platform, which adds to its sturdy and stiff form. It’s a flagship and present the full Lex luxe treatment. In the city the LX’s sheer proportions seemed overwhelming, but upstate it worked in a more rural and suburban environment, though Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking helps with squeezing in tight spots.
How it makes you feel when you get in:The LX has upgraded its in cabin experience with better materials that zhjuz things up quite abit. We drove the last model to Storm King, north of New York City. This time around we used it to commute to sporting events — a well-suited partners. Infotainment comes in the version of a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with Lexus Interface, Lexus app. There are six USB-C Ports — one for almost every seven passengers. Our model had the bonus of a great Mark Levinson 25-speaker, 2,400-watt surround sound system. Materials are spa like - quilted leather, wood trim and metal accents. Very comfy front seats.
How it drives: There’s something yachty about the LX. It’s powered by a 3.4 liter V6 that makes 409 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, which makes it more powerful but still more efficient than years past. The LX700h’s twin-turbo V-6 is married to an electric motor that ups 457 horsepower. It’s boat friendly, too, offering 8,000-lb of towing capacity. The Overtrail trim we drove adds skid plates, all-terrain tires. Both the LX600 and 700h have a 10-speed automatic and a four-wheel-drive system. Space for people and things: Despite the appearance of fanciful proportion, interior space could me more thoughtful in the third row. Good for smaller kids, but not necessarily a gang of adults.
