Genesis G80

How it looks when you see on the street: Genesis wins on both looks and feel. The G80 midsize sedan stands out for a design made distinct by parallel lines that create an elongated sinewy form. The G80 reflects admirable attention to detail that balances chiseled, aerodynamic proportions. The 2025 model update included new headlamps and a refined grille bumper. New colors are available for the 2026 model year.

How it makes you feel when you get in: Good light is everything and interior LED lighting adds drama to the cabin. Genesis layers on the bells and whistles in attractive packages. Most recently we tried a model with the Sport Prestige package that include a leather wrapped instrument panel and safety standards including lane following assist, forward attention warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, and forward attention warning. The infotainment system is housed in 27-inch OLED cluster that’s among the industry’s best tech set up . The Prestige package also had a lovely Bang & Olufsen sound sytem. A manual rear sunshade, digital key, and a wireless digital charger are added onto the 2026 model offering.

How it drives: The twin turbo-powered V6 engine gives G8 confidence and capability. Driving it feels sophisticated and delivers on an elevated performance. Fuel economy for this gas engine model is 19 miles per gallon. The G80 balances performance and poise. Steering has a confident, just right sensation.

Space for people and things: The angles have been worked, squeezing out solid storage space for its size. Front and rear passengers will find this car comfortable. It’s a sure fire alternative to an SUV.

What should you compare it to: Mercedes-Benz E53, Audi A7, BMW 5 Series.

How much does it cost: The 2025 G80 starts at $71,000 and our test cars was about $79,000.
