Genesis GV70

How it looks when you see on the street: We last reviewed the Genesis GV70 when it was the new kid on the block. We’ve now spent time in its newest model, the electrified GV70.

Its continued to earn high marks for its luxury offerings of SUVs. Its product smorgasbord continues with the GV70, a small luxe SUV, which checks so many boxes that matter to luxe SUV shoppers at an attractive price point.

How it makes you feel when you get in: It’s a polished space, that uses knobs and touch surfaces effectively. The cabin layout uses the space effectively and seats are stupid comfortable including a 12-way seat adjustment for the driver. Some cars are harder to give back than others, and we were quite fond of the look and feel of this space and the way it moved.

How it drives: We drove the  Genesis GV70 2.5T AWD Advanced, that has the same two engines as the larger GV80: The 2.5T model comes with a 300-horsepower four-cylinder and the GV70 packs a 375-horsepower V6. The paddle shifters add a bit of performance muster to the small SUV experience.

Space for people and things: Lots of cargo room to compete with the Acura RDX, BMW X3, Lexus NX, Mercedes-Benz GLC and Volvo XC60. It’s got 28.9 cubic feet of ample space.

Best Features: The 14.5-inch touchscreen one dash, and an available digital instrument display and a fingerprint reader to call up the driver's seat, climate and sound system preferences with a light touch

How much does it cost: Our vehicle — the Advanced trim — was priced at $50,695, adding on 19-inch wheels and the Lexicon audio system.
