Toyota RAV4

How it looks when you see on the street: Since it launched in 1996s hard to underscore the RAV4’s influence on the domination of SUVs on the road today. The Toyota brand has the top resale value for vehicles on the market. RAV4 has been on a steady march to demonstrate quality and is the very definition of utility meets sport. It’s evolved in shape to fuse with modern styling but remains tried and true.

How it makes you feel when you get in: Steady, sure room. While not massive, a standard 8-inch screen replaces the screen used on previous model years, and the Limited gets a 10.5-inch display.

How it drives: It’s respectable 2.5-liter four-cylinder is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s gasoline powered and earns 35 miles per gallon on the highway.

Space for people and things: Ample room for hauling people and gear, and clever inserts such as storage in the front consul space. Rear seats fold easily into a flat position.

What to compare it to: Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester.

How much does it cost: The model we tested was the Adventure All-Wheel Drive, which starts at about $32,000. Our model included a heated steering wheel, JBL speakers, and anti-theft system priced at $38,514.
